The speedboat sliced through the waves like a knife.
Jenny was at the helm, ignoring the rain beating down on her raincoat.
Evan pulled out a map of the keys and circled a group of dots.
"This is where the ship will have to pass to get to international waters." he shouted.
Alek nodded. "So what?"
"If we can head them off here, maybe they won't see us on the radar."
"With the fog and all, we'll look like one of those rocks. On the radar, at least." Joe agreed.
They all looked at Jenny.
"That's where I was heading." she said impassively.
Robert sighed. "You planned this already."
"I didn't want to say anything, since you guy

It had been a long day for Jenny. Not only had she received her first C in her lifetime, but she had two projects due next Thursday.
In the same class.
Jenny had pleaded with the teacher to postpone the due date for at least one of them, but he simply pointed out that the stacking was the result of her previous request for a make-up.
She brushed a strand of hair from her eyes and replaced her eyeglasses.
The old fisherman gazed at her with mild annoyance as she invaded his routine morning environment. After a few moments, he accepted her presence and tilted his hat over his eyes and tightened his hands ar

"No way." Jenny shook her head.
"But it's true." Alek insisted.
The other boys nodded in agreement.
"That's cool!" Joe exclaimed.
Robert was mirroring his expression perfectly.
Jenny wailed, "Am I the only one skeptical of this fish story?!"
Alek sighed, "You know how you sailed the Lynx a few days ago?"
"Yeah " Jenny paused for a moment. Then it struck. "That was her?!"
Alek nodded.
Jenny's eyes narrowed. "Okay. Let's get her then. I'm not going to let anyone else kill her."

Beckins's eyes were as wide as was biologically possible. His perspiration was starting to mass into droplets on his face as he examined his subject.
It was scientifically impossible. There was no way that a body that was more or less human could be fused with that of another species. The squid wasn't even a vertebrate; did her bones just disappear below the waist? It was a marvel.
Alexis lay strapped to the gurney, still unconscious.
Vince walked by, holding an icepack to the back of his head. He extended a sausage-sized finger and poked a tentacle.
"Weird." was all he could say.

As Alek and Alexis walked beyond the gate, Robert whispered to Joseph.
"Do you think they've "
"Nah."
Jenny laughed. "You clearly overestimate him."
Evan grunted. "He's too smart for that."
All four shrugged.
As usual the cobblestone street threatened to trip, even with flip-flop slippers. Alek made a small yell as he half-tripped, but was saved by Alexis's quick reactions.
"You okay?" she laughed as she gripped his arm. Alek did a balancing act on one foot and managed to put the other down.
"Yeah."
"I enjoyed the show," a voice said from behind a corner, "but now it's time for you to come with me."

"Come on." Alek urged.
"Coming," sighed Alexis. She was clutching a towel around her body.
"What's wrong?" Alek asked. "Is the bathing suit uncomfortable?"
He pulled off his towel to show his swimming trunks. White hibiscuses shone like mirrors, stinging the eyes.
"I guess..."
"You feel overdressed?" Alek laughed.
Alexis stuck out her tongue. "Cloth is less comfortable than flesh, let's just say that."
"Ah." Alek said as she pulled off her towel. Red hibiscus on a bikini. "You look beautiful anyways."
Alexis smiled brightly and touched his cheek.

Ellen Neumann blinked groggily as her phone rang. After fumbling her hands around the hotel nightstand, fighting room service flyer and cable television flyers, she managed to find the intruding device. It was three in the afternoon, but the jetlag still had a grip on her; she was asleep before the Greek food smell reached her nostrils. Not that she liked seafood, but even the lesser of Mediterranean cuisine arts would tempt the high-profile businessmen stopping by. She pressed the talk button.
"Yes?"
"Professor, you gotta see this!" Arnold exclaimed. The assistant had an uncanny ability of not getting jetlag.

It took Eddie just under a minute to disassemble and reassemble his pistol. Disassembling it once again, he carefully cleaned the weapon. Then, he clicked the bullets into his clip, snapped the clip into the gun and placed the gun into his belt. The metal felt cool and reassuring against his back.
Eddie smiled. He liked it.
The assassin groaned as he climbed out of his bunk and walked out of the quarters. He leaned against a wall as the ship rocked.
A few minutes later, he was on the deck, looking at the glowing town. All the lights shone into the night while their reflections echoed across the ocean's glassy surface.

Maddox was in a bad mood. Empty baskets lined the dock while the Dugong rocked slowly nearby. A door was open on the ships hull like a hungry mouth, angry at the diminishing punctuality of its meals.
I thought there were more oysters. Maddox said slowly. His tone was dangerous, but not at the point where heads began rolling. Not yet, anyway.
There are! Doctor Beckins wailed. The divers arent looking hard enough.
It better be just that. All weve got now will fetch a few million.
Beckins began sweating despite the cool morning breeze.

Alek awoke with a sleeping Alexis next to him. Her golden hair sparkled alone because her aqua eyes were hidden by her eyelids. Her lithe legs moved slowly under the covers, gently brushing Aleks. The boy made sure that his pants were still on. Although Alexis had demonstrated nothing more than a platonic love with him, there was still the chance
His pants remained on his legs. Good.
Alek slid a hand and froze. He felt a wet spot.
How did that get there? he wondered and looked up.
There was water dripping from the ceiling.
Alek breathed in relief. This sea witch really did love him, otherwise she would have si

Nights Under the Pacific Stars
Chapter 1
Alek tried to sleep as the boat gently rocked on the waves. The soft ocean breeze was cool and gently blew his honey golden hair. The others quietly slept, curled up in somewhat comfortable positions. The reef was so beautiful, filled with dozens of colors, but they couldnt find a place to take a dive and their scuba equipment lay as dry as it had when they rented it. Alek plucked some crumbs from their sandwich lunch and dropped them slowly into the water, watching a rainbow of fishes rise up and nibble. The water was still despite the breeze and Alek lazily drew a finger in the water, making small ripples across the glassy

It was Monday, Aleks least favorite of the weekdays. The cafeteria was filled with students anxious to get lunch and chat with their friends.
I heard that you fell in the water again. Jenny smiled behind her frameless glasses.
Who told you that? Alek asked stirring his pudding.
Joe.
Thought so.
He mentioned something about an octopus.
Alex looked up.
Some huge mollusk.
Like the Kraken? Alek asked.
Theres no such thing as the Kraken, if such an animal were possible, there would be many Krakens. Jenny lecture
Yo yo Lego! Still a great story any time I read it. I notice Alexis has somewhat of a dark and mischievous side when combating Vince.... if you can call that a fight. She pretty much gave him what for.
